Quijano is a recognized artist who has worked foremost in abstract painting. She has also experimented successfully in glasswork design. The theme of much of her work introduces us to the native South American Indian, whose unique myths and beliefs include the shaman [essay on shamanism].
Although born and raised
in Bogotá, Colombia, since 1986 Quijano has resided in Wiesbaden, Germany. Her
work has been exhibited in galleries throughout Colombia and Germany and
worldwide in cities including Miami, Florida, Guayaquil, Ecuador, Oslo, Norway,
and
Krems, Austria.
Quijano studied art at the David Manzur Art School in Bogotá (1974-1978) and later at the University of Mainz Art School (1988-1994).
